2. General information on data processing

We process personal data only to the extent necessary – confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

3. Collection and processing of personal data

a) When you visit the website

When you access our website, we automatically collect the following log data:

  • IP address
  • date and time of access
  • page/file accessed
  • user agent (browser type and version as well as the operating system used)
  • referrer URL

This data serves to ensure smooth operation, is not used to identify individuals and is deleted after 14 days. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the stability and security of the website).

b) Analysis of website visits

To analyse visits to our website and improve our online presence, we use Umami, an open-source analytics tool that we operate ourselves on our own infrastructure in the EU. Umami does not set cookies and does not store IP addresses; to recognise related visits, a regularly changing, non-reversible hash is generated.

The legal basis is legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in optimising our online offering and our website.

The data is processed and stored exclusively in the EU (Germany). It is not used for any other purpose, combined with other data or passed on to third parties.

You can object to processing for the purpose of audience measurement at any time pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR. Please send your objection to privacy@stack-forge.eu.

c) Contacting us

When you contact us – e.g. via our contact form, by email, by phone or in an online meeting – we store your details in order to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract or pre-contractual measures). If no contractual relationship is established within 3 months, we delete the data. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.

We process reports to our abuse contact on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in investigating and preventing abuse).

If you contact us via a third-party service, e.g. WhatsApp or LinkedIn, that service also processes your data and provides information about this in its own privacy policy. We have no influence over that processing. We use the data we receive from you through such services exclusively to communicate with you.

4. Recipients of data

To operate and maintain our website and our email services, we use technical service providers (hosting providers) who act as our processors. All service providers are contractually obliged to treat your data confidentially.

5. Your rights

You have the right at any time to

  • obtain information about your stored data pursuant to Art. 15 GDPR,
  • request the rectification of inaccurate data pursuant to Art. 16 GDPR,
  • request the erasure of your data pursuant to Art. 17 GDPR,
  • request the restriction of processing pursuant to Art. 18 GDPR,
  • request data portability pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR,
  • object to the processing pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR,
  • lodge a complaint pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR with the competent supervisory authority, the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (Bavarian Data Protection Authority), or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.

To exercise your rights, please contact us at privacy@stack-forge.eu.
